Yacht Club Fare Piti

Tables reminiscent of the Us Navy
A series of informative frescos displayed at the Yacht Club restaurant, a short distance from the American quay at Fare piti, relate the history of the American occupation of Bora Bora during the Second World War. In particular, the history of the bay of Fa’anui, where a heavy fuel depot was constructed to refuel US Navy convoys traveling between Panama and Australia, as well as a dry dock for the maintenance of smaller vessels and submarines operating in the South Pacific. The texts are written in French and English and it is open to the public.
