Pareo, a cultural garment

The word pareo comes from the Tahitian word, pāreu. It is a garment that perfectly reflects the relaxed lifestyle in The Islands of Tahiti. Made of light, colorful material such as cotton or silk, the pareo can be used in variuos ways: a dress, a skirt, shorts, a shawl or even as a beach mat. It is usually worn by women, but can also be worn by men. The designs and colors often represent natural elements and Polynesian culture. It is a supremely wearable garment that you’ll quickly find indespensable.
